The Sustainable Transportation & Travel Network (STTN) commitment to sustainability has never been stronger. Our approach is integrated throughout our network to strive to protect the environment, empower people, and get results the right way—today and tomorrow.

STTN is a global organization that is socially and environmentally responsible, that embraces creativity and diversity, and is committed to addressing the issues created by climate change. Our mission is to provide member companies with an efficient, affordable way to transition to long-term solutions that will provide a sustainable business future.

STTN understands that substantial progress can only be made if companies decide to take pre-emptive action and drive change. Furthermore, we believe that every business has a vested interest in taking action to minimize their exposure to the market and regulatory pressures created by the impact of climate change.

STTN has developed the Building the future of Sustainable Transportation and Travel.TM program to help transportation & travel companies meet the new and rapidly increasing environmental responsibility demands made by their passengers, corporate clients, investors, and other stakeholders, by:

accepting that there is a problem – recognizing that we, as transportation companies, are disproportionately responsible for GHG emissions and that our actions have consequences;
quantifying the impact of our activities – identifying and measuring the emissions we create;
avoiding future emissions to meet reduction targets – reducing our dependence on fossil fuels to power our fleets, reducing waste through the use of cleaner products and technologies, as well as eliminating waste by recycling oil, plastic, and other petroleum-based products;
reducing the remaining CO2 emissions through carbon offsets –address the immediate impact of transportation and accept a cost for this impact;
communicating effectively – informing others of our commitments and successes through transparent reporting and support;
recognizing that sustainability is inseparable from corporate strategy – environmental stewardship must be elevated to the CEO’s agenda; and,
leading by example – integrating programs, policies, and procedures that avoid/reduce emissions and support the company’s long-term financial and operational efficiencies.

STTN provides a practical approach to sustainability that allows our members to take pre-emptive action on climate change, steps that go beyond the minimum requirements of anticipated legislation and regulation.
